Who we are

How Clean Is My Water? (howcleanismywater.org) is a community platform for sharing TDS water readings and related content. Contact: hello@howcleanismywater.org.

What we collect

• Readings you submit — location, TDS value, optional name, notes, and photos.
• Comments and discussions — text you post on readings or community stories.
• Technical data — Firebase authentication identifiers (including anonymous session IDs), and theme preference stored in your browser.
• Admin accounts — email addresses for authorised staff only.

How we use data

We display community readings on the map and feed, moderate submitted discussions, and operate the admin dashboard. We do not sell personal data.

Storage & third parties

Data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore, Cloud Storage, Authentication). Map tiles may be loaded from OpenStreetMap / Carto providers. UK postcode lookup uses postcodes.io and Nominatim where applicable.

Cookies & local storage

We use browser local storage for theme choice and cookie consent. Firebase may set authentication tokens required for submissions. See your browser settings to clear stored data.

Your rights

You may request correction or deletion of content you submitted by emailing support@howcleanismywater.org. UK users may have additional rights under UK GDPR.

Children

This site is intended for general audiences. If you believe a child has submitted personal data, contact us to remove it.
